Ihana koti/ home sweet home

Tulin tänään kotiin. Heti kun astuin ovesta sisään, tuli pakottava tarve ottaa kuvia. Paikkojakaan en ehtinyt siistimään tai stailaamaan. Kaikki on, niin kuin on. Tajusin kuinka paljon rakastan asua täällä. Näiden seinien sisälle kätkeytyy sopivassa suhteessa naurua ja kyyneliä. Tänään ajattelin maata sohvalla, imeä itseeni tätä fiilistä ja toivoa etten ikinä unohda sitä. Ihana koti!

I came home today. Straight away I walked in I had this urgent feeling to take some pictures. I didn't have time to clean up or style anything. Everything is the way they are. I realized how much I love to live here. There are good amount laughter and tears inside of these walls. Tonight I'm planning just lie on the couch, suck this feeling in to myself and hope that I'll never forget how it feels. Precious home.

Landella/ countryside

Sisustuslehtien jutuissa aina käsketään käydä pienten paikkakuntien kirpputoreilla, koska siellä on halvempi hintataso. En mene sitä kieltämään etteikö olisi, mutta näissä jutuissa monesti unohdetaan mainita se toinen puoli, että se aarteiden tarjonta on huomattavan vähäistä verraten isojen kaupunkien kirppiksiin. Joskus toki löytyy jotain halvalla, tosin kyllä täälläkin jo osataan hinnoitella design kalusteet ja "design kalusteet".

Tänään käytiin Pinjan kans kiertään tän kylän ainut kirppari, joka on muuten yllättävän hyvä. Kuvia napsin niistä jutuista mitkä olis voinu laittaa ostoskoriin ja mun mukana kotiin, mutta ei kuitenkaan. Nuo pannulaput jäi vähän himottamaan, harvoin oon nähny noin kauniita virkattuja. Joudun ehkä äitille vinkkaan, että ottaa koukun sievään kätöseensä. Kivoja tuoleja sieltä ois löytynyt taas vaikka millä mitalla ja tuo Aallon tuoli jäi vielä vähän takaraivoon jyskyttämään. Toivon että se on ens kerralla myyty, jottei mun tarvi tuoda sitä kotiin. Vanhaa mintunvihreää ompelukonetta olen haaveillut jo kauemman aikaa, mutta en vaan ole raaskinut ostaa. Syötövön ihana ja toimiva se kyllä olisi. Jos teitä ihmetyttää että mikä on tuo mööpeli ompelukoneen viereisessä kuvassa, niin voin kertoa että se on vanha parturin hiustenkuivain. Sekin ihan ylisöpö, mutta varustettu 100€ hintalapulla. Tosin siitähän voisi tehdä vaikka valaisimen, silti se olisi turhan kallis.

No mut landella on kyllä kivaa, en voi kieltää.

Interior magazines always tell you to go and visit fleamarkets on smaller cities because of their lower price level. I'm not saying it isn't true but many times those articles don't mention the other side: there is not that many treasures to be found in smaller places compared to bigger cities. Of course sometimes you can find something cheap although they know how to put prices on design furniture and "design furniture" here as well.

Today Pinja and I had a little round at the only fleamarket of this town. I took pictures about the things I would've wanted to buy and take home with me. I am still craving for those kettleholders, I rarely see knitted ones that are so beautiful. I might have to give a hint to my mom so she takes the crochet hook on her pretty hand. There were so many nice chairs once again and that Aalto-chair is sticking on my head. I hope it will be sold next time I visit there so I don't have to take it home with me. I have been dreaming of mintgreen sewingmachine for some time now but still I haven't bought it. It is so delicious and it even works. If you are wondering what that strange thing next to the sewing machine is, I can tell you that it old barbershop hairdryer. It is so cute as well but comes with a price tag saying 100 €. I could make a lamp of it but still I think it is little bit too expensive.

But anyway, I can't deny that I love it here on the countryside.

Hauskaa/ fun

Tämä päivä on jorailtu kummitytön kanssa Bruno Marsin tahdissa. Kyllä tulee vauhtia 9kuukauden ikäiseen pikkuneitiin, kun ylläolevan biisin laittaa soimaan. Oikeasti meidän päivä ei ole ollut kovin laiska, vaikka laulussa niin hoilataan. Ollaan imuroitu, siivoiltu, leivottu, tanssittu ja lenkkeilty. Lenkki tosin jäi vähän lyhyeksi, kun taivaalle keräänty uhkaavan näkösiä sadepilviä.
Mää oon siis nyt kaks viikkoa pohjosessa kummitytön ammana, joten sisustuspostaukset on vähänä. Aattelin kuitenkin kysästä, että kiinnostaisko teitä postaukset esim mun äidin kodista tai veljen kodista? Molemmat on erityylisiä kuin meidän koti, mutta kauniita ja erilaisuushan on rikkautta. Voin toki postailla myös mun ja Pinjan päivän touhuista, jos se jotakin kiinnostaa. Kysyn tätä ihan siksi, että melko harvoin poikkean täällä blogissa sivuraiteille, tai oman kodin ulkopuolelle. Miten on? Kyllä vai ei?

Today we have been dancing to Bruno Mars with my goddaughter. You should see the moves that this nine months old little missie does when she hears this song. Our day haven't really been lazy even the song says so. We have been vacuuming, cleaning, baking, dancing and we took a walk. Our walk was short though since there was some threatening clouds gathering on the sky.
I am babysitting my goddaughter for two weeks now here in the north so there will not be so many posts considering decoration. Because of that I was wondering if you would be interested on posts about my brothers or mothers homes? Both of them are very different compared to our home but still very beautiful. I could also post about what Pinja and I do every day if someone is interested. The reason I'm asking is because I usually never go off track on my blog or even outside of my own home. So how is it? Yes or no?

"Moi, mää oon Penni. Mää oon vähän semmonen Rymy-Roope, tai ainakin niin tuo mun akka väittää. Puuttuhan multa kyllä etuhampaat alhaalta ja nyt on silmäkulmassa tikit, joten ehkä siinä on jotain perää. Tästä viimeisimmästä välämästä syytän kyllä vähän akkaa ja sen typeriä sisustusratkaisuja. Minä kun tykkäisin nukkua tuolla keittiön hyllyn alla, mutta kun ovikello niin mukavasti pirahti yks ilta, niin tuli kiire juosta katsomaan kuka tulee ja hylly viilsi haavan silmään. Hätä siinä tuli ukolla ja akalle, kun verta tuli niin paljon. Puolilta öin jouduttiin vielä menemään eläintohtorille tikattavaksi. Siellä ne pisti mulle piikin pyllyyn. Heräsin vasta kotona ja akka nukkui lattialla mun vieressä. Herätin akan ja sitten se silitteli mua yön, jos se meinas nukahtaa, niin rappasin sitä niin että se heräs uudelleen. Nyt mää oon jo parantumaan päin ja onni onnettomuudessa ettei silmälle käynyt mitenkään. Ainoa huono asia on, ettei akka päästä enää nukkumaan hyllyn alle. Onneksi sain kuitenkin uuden pedin, kun akka tyhjensi lehdet tuosta vanhasta matkalaukusta, siinä on ihan kiva makoilla.
Tänään me lähdetään pienelle road tripille. Ensin mennään Keski-Suomeen, sieltä Itä-Suomeen ja sitten pohjoseen. Matkalla nähdään tuttuja, sekä juhlitaan synttäreitä ja äitienpäivää.

"Hi, my name is Penni. I am little bit a tasmanian devil or at least that is what my missus says. I am missing my lower front teeth and now I have some stiches on corner of my eye so maybe she might be right. For this newest injury I blame missus and her stupid decoration ideas. I like to sleep under the kitchen shelf but this one night when the doorbell rang I was in a hurry to run and see who was coming and the shelf cut the corner of my eye. Gaffer and missus were in panic because there was so much blood coming out of my eye. I had to get to the vet at the midnight to get stitches. There I got a spike in my butt. When I woke up, I was at home sleeping on the floor with missus. I woke her up and then she petted me all night, if she tried to fall asleep, I scratched her until she woke up again. Now I'm getting better and with my luck, there was no bigger damage on my eye. Only bad thing is that missus won't let sleep under the shelf anymore. Luckily I got a new bed when missus took all the magazines from the old suitcase, it is a nice place to lie on.
Today we are going on little road trip. First we are going to Central Finland, from there to eastern Finland and finally from there to the north. During the trip we are going to see some old friends, celebrate birthdays and mother's day!

Mustaa/ black

Piti sutia mustaa maalia ympäriinsä. Olkkarissa puhaltaa taas muutoksen tuulet, siitä lisää myöhemmin.
Meillä on tässä yksi projekti meneillään, joten mun aivot pyörii vaan yhden asian ympärillä ja blogi on jäänyt paitsioon.

I had to brush black paint around. The winds of changes are once again blowing in our livingroom, I'll tell more later.
We have one project going on at the moment so my mind is on that all the time, that's why my blog have been offside.

Elämän parhaat jutut/ best things of life

Lauantain parhaaseen hetkeen kuuluu Rahulan kuisti, lemppari nojatuoli, hyvä kirja ja aurinko. Lämmikkeeksi pääsi iskän kuus nuomeroa liian isot reinot ja mummon viltti. Voisin tottua tähän lomailuun. Ensi viikolla kuitenkin täytyy kai palata pyörittämään arkea kotiin.

The best moment of Saturday is spent in the porch of Rahula in my favorite chair with a good book and the sun. In case I get cold I had my dads six sizes too big Reino-slippers and my grannys blanket. I could get use to this kind of holiday but I have to get home and get into usual weekday rutine next week.

Tänään tehtiin niin tajuttoman hyviä suklaakeksejä, että pakko jakaa ohje kanssanne. Tästä onkin hyvä alottaa viikonlopun vietto. Hyvää viikonloppua!

We made so delicious chocolate cookies that I just have to share the recipe with you.

Chocolate cookies

5 dl wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 ½ dl butter
2 ½ dl sugar
1 dl brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
250 g chocolate

Froath butter. Add sugar, brown sugar, vanilla sugar and salt. Mix. Whisk eggs into a light foam and add them to the mixture. Mix wheat flour and bakinf powder with each other and then add them with the rest of the ingredients. Grind chocolate and mix it in to the dough. Make little balls (about 2 tablespoons) on the baking sheet, about 9 pieces/sheet. Bake in 175 degrees for a 10 minutes. Let them cool and enjoy.

Elossa/ I'm alive

Olen takaisin. Voi pojat, että tuntuu mahtavalta. On ollut ikävä tänne ja teitä ihania lukijoita ja teidän mahtavia kommentteja. Kaikenlaista tässä on ehtinytkin tapahtua pakollisen tauon aikana. Olohuone muutti järjestystä, olen kuvannut Ruotsalaiselle huonekalu jätille, etsinyt asuntoa (ja ehkä löytänyt täydellisen), päättänyt jatkaa opintojani ja muuttaa 500km päähän miehestä, nauttinut elämästä, virkannut kaulahuivia, katsonut elokuvia ja keittänyt hilloa. Monia asioita siis on tullut tehtyä, mitä en ehkä olisi saanut aikaiseksi, jos tietokone olisi toiminut. Tosin osa näistä asioista olisi hoitunut huomattavasti helpommin, jos olisi ollut oma kone. Tauon aikana mulla oli tuhat ja yksi asiaa mielessä, mistä teen päivityksiä, kun kone toimii. No nyt kun kone toimii, en muka muista yhtään asiaa, jospa ne vielä tulisi mieleen joku päivä. Ihana kuitenkin olla taas elävien kirjoissa :)

I'm back. Oh boy it feels wonderful. I have been missing my blog, all of you my amazing readers and wonderful comments you write. During my forced break, lots have happened. Our livingroom has a new order, I have took some photos for a Swedish furniture-giant, I have looked for a apartment (and maybe found one), I have decided to continue my studies and move 500 km away from my husband, I have enjoyed life, knitted a scarf, watched movies and made jam. I have done lots things I might not would have done if my computer would have been working. On the other hand, some of these things would have been easier to do with a working computer.I had thousand ideas for updates during my break but now when my computer is working I can't remember single one.Well I hope they will pop on my mind again some day. It's nice to be alive again :)

Ongelmia / Problems

Pahoittelen ettei tule päivityksiä. Mulla on koneen kanssa nyt isoja ongelmia. Yritän päästä mahdollisimman pian normaaliin päivitysrytmiin.

I'm sorry for not updating my blog. I'm having some big problems with my computer at the moment. I'll try to get into my usual updating-rhythm as soon as I can.

Pillit/ straws

Tänään ne vihdoin saapuivat. Ne kuuluisat, kauan odotetut pillini. Nyt tekisi mieli tehdä pirtelöä, jotta niille tulisi käyttöä.

Today they arrived. My famous and long waited straws. Now I would like to make some milkshake so that I could use them.

Tuparit/ housewarming party

Nyt ne on juhlittu, tuparit siis. Eihän tässä olla ehditty asua vasta kun 8kk mutta, kun aina jossain nurkassa on ollut menossa joku pieni kaaos, niin ei tänne oo kehdannut ihmisiä käskeä. Nyt kai voisi tavallaan sanoa, että tämä koti on valmis. Vaikka ei kai se kyllä ikinä valmis ole, sisustaminen jatkuu loputtomiin. Kohta lähtee niin sivuraiteille teksti että siirrytäänpäs itse aiheeseen. Meitä oli täällä juhlimassa 11hengen porukka. Tarjolla olis popcorneja, joihin tein itse tuollaiset laatikot, sekä brownieseja, turkinpippurilakuja, Oukki doukkeja ja muutamaa erilaista pikkupizzaa. Drinkeiksi meille valikoitui Tom Collins ja persikkapirtelö, sekä shotteina Horna ja mustikkashotti. Olin tilannut hienot mustavalkoiset pillitkin, joista vouhotin koko viikon, mutta ne ei ehtineet tulla. Huomenna ne varmaan sitten löytyy postilaatikosta.
Mun pitäis alkaa harjottelemaan enempi tuota pimeässä kuvaamista ja hankkia kunnon salama. Tällä kertaa kuvat siis on mitä on.
Pahoittelen kirjoitusvirheitä, oon ollu päivän migreenissä ja heräsin juuri.

Now we have partied our housewarming. We have been living here for eight months already but I didn't wan't to invite people to come over before I sorted out the little chaoses in the corners. Now I can kind of say that this home is ready. Even though it's not ready because I could decorate it forever. But lets go back to the main point, the party. We had gang of 11 people here. We had popcorn (I made those boxes myself), brownies, turkishpepperliquorice, Oukki doukki-sweets and couple different kinds of mini-pizzas. For drinks we had Tom Collins and peachliquer-milkshake and for shots Horna and blueberryshots. I had order thease cool black and white straws but they didn't came early enough. I am sure that I'll find them in my mailbox tomorrow.
I should start to practise more shooting in the dark and get a proper camera flash. This time the pictures are what they are.
